Frerejean Frères Cuvée des Hussards 2013 is a Premier Cru vintage Champagne from Vertus, blending 90% Chardonnay with 10% Pinot Noir for a poised, finely built style. The bouquet opens with ripe pear and peach, followed by grapefruit and lemon, then layers of patisserie, roasted almond, mint and dried fruit. The palate starts brisk and citrus-bright, turns creamy through the mid-taste, and finishes long, mineral and saline, showing real drive and definition. At 12.5% ABV and with extended ageing, the wine carries depth without weight; the restrained dosage keeps it taut and gastronomic.
