Paolo Scavino Bric del Fiasc Barolo DOCG 2013

A classically styled single-vineyard Barolo from Bric dël Fiasc in Castiglione Falletto, in the heart of Piedmont. The 2013 vintage shows a taut, elegant profile: the bouquet offers red cherry and sour cherry, rose blossom, licorice, fresh mint and a fine smoky minerality. The palate is full-bodied yet focused, with high, balanced acidity and fine yet powerful tannins; the texture is silky and the finish very long, with balsamic and spicy nuances. Decanting is advisable in youth; a superb partner for lamb and game, and built for long cellaring.
