Paolo Scavino Barolo Bric Fiasc DOCG 2011

An authoritative yet refined Barolo from the hilltop parcel Bric dël Fiasc in Castiglione Falletto. The bouquet layers ripe cherry and crushed raspberry with rose petal, licorice, and a subtle balsamic lift, shading into tea leaf and a hint of tar. The palate is full-bodied and concentrated; ripe 2011 fruit is kept in check by vibrant acidity and fine, persistent tannins. The finish is long and mineral-etched, with gentle spice and an anise echo. Cellar-worthy, but a generous decant already reveals impressive depth and detail. Serve at 16–18 °C alongside braised meats, game, and richly sauced dishes.
