Oxer Bastegieta Suzzane Old Vines 2023

What’s in a Name: Suzzane takes its name from a song by Leonard Cohen and from a painting called 'Susana and the Old Men' by Tintoretto, an ode to women, hence the elegance of this wine. It perfectly expresses the characteristics that Garnacha offers us in La Rioja soils. It also reflects the respect we have for the region's old vineyards.

Varieties: 100% Garnacha

Production: 8.600 bottles of 0,75 cl.

Vineyard 
3ha vineyards planted in Badarán, Camprovin and Cordovin (Rioja Alta) at an altitude of 580 meters. Clay-ferrous soils with slightly more than 10% stone, giving us low yields, around 2,000 kg/ha. The different plots that make up this vineyard provide an extra complexity to the wine.

Winemaking
Fermentation with native yeasts in used 1.000 litre French oak foudres. It takes malolactic fermentation and subsequent aging for 10 months in used 600L French oak barrels. It remains for 2 months in concrete to refine.
