Oxer Bastegieta Kalamity Blanco DOCa 2023 Magnum

What’s in a Name: The eye-catching name and label express Oxer’s love for Shakespeare. “Honi soit qui mal y pense” (Shame be to him who thinks evil of it) comes from the play “The Reign of King Edward the Third”.

Varieties: 60% Viura, 10% Calagraño and remaining 30% Torrontés, Malvasía, Maturana Blanca and Garnacha Blanca

Production: 3.100 bottles of 0,75 cl.

Vineyard 
Very old vineyards of Rioja Alavesa with altitudes of 600 meters, on clay- calcareous soils with yields of around 3,000 kg per hectare.

Winemaking
Direct pressing of the whole bunch, alcoholic fermentation with autochthonous yeasts in stainless steel tanks, previously seeking hyperoxidation when pressing. Then, the wine is transferred to used 600L French oak barrels where the fermentation ends, including malolactic, and where it will remain for 10 months before being bottled.
