Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru Ronciere 2017

A ruby-hued Pinot Noir that showcases the finesse of central Nuits-Saint-Georges. The nose opens with ripe red cherry and raspberry, violet florals and a gentle herbal lift, underlined by a subtle saline/iron-tinged minerality. The palate is dry, medium-bodied and finely structured, with chalk-fine tannins and bright, balanced acidity. Oak is judicious, contributing discreet baking-spice and toast accents without masking the fruit. The finish is long, focused and slightly saline. In the Roncière idiom this is more graceful and flowing than muscular; drink 2024–2032, with a brief 30–60 minute decant in youth. Pair with roast duck or game birds, herb-sautéed mushrooms, veal, or semi-firm cheeses such as Comté.
