Domaine Jean Grivot, Echezeaux Grand Cru 2018 MAGNUM

The Domaine Jean Grivot Échezeaux Grand Cru 2018 is a refined yet powerful expression of Burgundy Pinot Noir, combining ripe red and darker berry aromas with floral and spice highlights. The nose shows strawberries, raspberries and a hint of rose petal with an undercurrent of woodland earth that adds breadth. On the palate the wine is compact and silky, with lively acidity and finely grained tannins; oak influence is present but well integrated, contributing subtle baking spice and length. The finish is long, saline and mineral-tinged, and while the wine is enjoyable with some aeration now, its structure promises further development in bottle over the coming decade or more.
