Chateau Margaux Premier Grand Cru Classe 1982

The bouquet is layered and mature, led by blackcurrant and black plum with dried violet, cedar and cigar leaf, touched by graphite and black truffle. The palate is seamless and concentrated, with polished tannins, fresh yet integrated acidity and a poised core of savory cassis. Hints of forest floor and pencil shavings add complexity through the mid-palate. The finish is long, refined and persistent, echoing cedar spice and a gentle mineral snap. Serve at 17–18 °C in large Bordeaux stems. A gentle decant to remove sediment is recommended. At peak now and drinking beautifully, with the structure to hold a few more years.
