The power and elegance of a distinctive Premier Cru terroir are concentrated here from the hills of Avenay-Val-d'Or and Bisseuil in the Vallée de la Marne, giving a ripe yet zesty result. The cuvée is Pinot Noir-led (80%) with 20% Chardonnay, and only the first pressing is used, ensuring purity and detail. About 72% of the wine is fermented and aged in older oak, malolactic is not carried out and bottle ageing lasts at least 60 months; dosage is 0.65 g/l, keeping the style dry and precise. Ripe yellow fruit, brioche, toasted nuts and chalky minerality on nose and palate, with a long, clear finish.
