Champagne Simon Rion Blanc de Noirs 2020

Simon Rion “Les 2 Parcelles” 2020 is a precise, low-dosage Blanc de Noirs from Courmas in the Petite Montagne de Reims. Sourced from the micro-parcels Les Roses and Les Triquesdoux, it blends 60% Pinot Noir with 40% Meunier, is vinified in barrel, and was matured around 24 months on lees before dégorgement in 11/2023; the dosage is 1 g/L, firmly in Extra Brut territory. The bouquet opens with ripe red apple, pear and citrus peel, layered with brioche, light hazelnut and a chalky lift. The palate is dry, tense and finely textured, the mousse delicate, with red-fruited accents and saline persistence that underscores the minimal dosage. Serve at 8–10 °C with savoury pastries, truffled risotto or roast poultry; production was limited to only 643 bottles.
