Chateau Figeac Grand Cru 2018

An elegant, brilliantly balanced Saint-Émilion red in which the Cabernet component from Figeac's gravel soils brings structure and tension, while Merlot adds juiciness and a velvety texture. Blackcurrant, ripe cherry and plum on the nose, framed by violet, cedar and fine spice. The palate is medium to full-bodied with fresh acidity and fine, ripe tannins leading to a long, slightly stony and saline-tinged finish. 2018 is a sun-drenched vintage, yet it keeps remarkable vibrancy and precision; decanting for 1–2 hours is recommended. Very good ageing potential over the next decade and beyond.
